Wai Yee Chung, DDS

Dr. Wai Yee Chung has been a dedicated dentist since 2000, providing compassionate, high-quality dental care to patients of all ages. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Barnard College, Columbia University, in 1993. Following graduation, she joined the Department of Pathology at Columbia University Medical Center, where she conducted pioneering research on genomic imprinting and Wilms’ tumors. Her work was published in several prominent medical journals, including the American Journal of Pathology.

Motivated by a growing passion for dentistry, Dr. Chung went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2000. She then completed a general practice residency at Methodist Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she further refined her clinical skills.

After several years practicing general dentistry, Dr. Chung discovered a deep calling to work with children. She completed a specialty residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she later served as a volunteer Attending Dentist. She now practices privately, focusing exclusively on pediatric dental care.

Dr. Chung is known for her gentle approach, and she strives to make every visit a positive and educational experience for both children and their families. She emphasizes the importance of early oral health habits and provides families with the tools and knowledge to promote lifelong healthy smiles.

She is a proud member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, New York State Pediatric Dentistry, and the Northeast Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Chung also leads numerous workshops and seminars for students, families, and community organizations.

Outside the office, Dr. Chung enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, and cheering on her two sons in their badminton and fencing activities. She is also deeply involved in her children’s school community, currently serving as both President and Vice President of the Parent Teacher Association at the middle and high school levels.
