Cosmetic Dentistry – Choosing Between Invisalign and the Snap-On Smile

If you are an adult in the market for cosmetic dentistry, chances are that you are not going to go the braces route. If that is the case, then there are two very good and very different options available to you to help correct your smile: Invisalign and the Snap-On Smile. Each of these options differs greatly, both in method and cost, but they each have their own advantages.

Invisalign is a popular dental procedure in cosmetic dentistry offices. While the manufacturer does make a teen version of Invisalign, these clear aligners are incredibly popular with adults. Since the aligners are clear, that means that you can wear them to straighten your teeth without everyone knowing about it. Of course, you have to change the aligners every two weeks to ensure your teeth continue moving to the place they need to be. The aligners are removable as well so you can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment – you just take them out and then put them back in when you are finished. Really the only downside is the cost. The average cost for full Invisalign treatment is $5,000.

The Snap-On Smile is relatively new to cosmetic dentistry offices and, actually dental offices everywhere. Unlike the other procedures like braces and Invisalign, the Snap-On Smile is not a permanent corrective method. The Snap-On Smile is simply a device that you snap on your teeth and cover up the imperfections and crookedness. You go in to the dentist office and he or she will take impressions of your teeth and send them off to the company who manufactures the Snap-On Smile. They will create your own personalized device that will snap perfectly over your teeth. Should you ever get tired of it, all you have to do is take it off. The cost of the Snap-On Smile averages to be around $1,000 so it is definitely more affordable than the permanent options.

Choosing between Invisalign and the Snap-On Smile for your cosmetic dentistry needs can be difficult. If your budget does not allow for the more permanent method, then you can always get the Snap-On smile. However, the best bet is to apply for financing for Invisalign and go that route. Most providers will work out a payment plan with you, so it can’t hurt to ask before you commit to something like the Snap-On Smile.
